Black Dyke Live

In 2010 the Chorus were thrilled to join Halifax Choral Society and the world-famous Black Dyke Band, conducted by John Pryce-Jones, to record ‘Black Dyke Live’ in the Birmingham Symphony Hall.

The recording features Andrew Wainwright’s and Duncan Gibbs’ arrangement of Karl Jenkins’ immensely popular ‘The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace‘ for brass band, choir and organ.

The DVD also includes Crown Imperial, the overture to Poet and PeasantOnly For You and The Day Thou Gavest.

‘…worthy of and demanding of a hearing at one sitting and will leave you visually moved……’ ‘a triumph for all involved…..’ Tim Mutum, 4barsrest

‘the combined choirs, ably led by John Pryce Jones, are excellent.’ ‘An excellent DVD, worth every penny and more just for The Armed Man alone. I really enjoyed it.’ Gordon Eddison, National Association of Brass band conductors
