Members of Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus enjoyed a wonderful trip to Monaco, to sing Mahler’s Symphony No 2 with the CBSO Chorus and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo under the baton of Kazuki Yamada. The concert, to mark the centenary of the birth of Prince Rainier III, took place on 24 September in the magnificent Grimaldi Forum.
‘We had a wonderful time’ said tenor Paul Henstridge ‘There was time to see the sights but we enjoyed the singing most of all – a rehearsal with Simon Halsey is quite the thing!’
The CBSO Chorus is one of the world’s great choirs, trained for almost 40 years by Simon Halsey CBE; it performs with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra.
