The Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus is a large mixed voice chorus based in Sheffield. The Chorus sings with leading conductors and orchestras and fulfils a challenging and exciting programme under the vibrant and inspiring leadership of its Music Director, Darius Battiwalla.

The Chorus always welcomes new members: rehearsals take place every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm at our rehearsal venue at King Edward VII Upper School, Glossop Rd, Sheffield S10 2PW. Rehearsals in 2016-2017 begin on Tuesday 6th September 2016. We were delighted to launch in November 2015 the our new CD recording, 'Awake, Arise! A Yorkshire Christmas Carol Collection for Brass and Voices', recorded with the world-famous Black Dyke Band. Find out how to buy your copy. This collection has a real Yorkshire flavour and includes some of the Sheffield carols, traditionalluy sung in Sheffield pubs at this time of year. It also includes arrangements by the Chorus's gifted Music Director, Darius Battiwalla, of such Christmas classics as Joy to The World and O Holy Night, a firm favourite at our annual Christmas concerts at Sheffield City Hall.

In 2011 we launched The Friends of Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus. For the first time members of the music-loving public are offered the opportunity to become part of this vibrant, focused organisation and to contribute to its continuing success. More details are on the Friends of SPC page.

Scaling The Heights - Singclude Breaks Down Barriers For Disabled Singers

Lottery logoIn 2012, the Chorus was delighted to launch Singclude. With funding from the Big Lottery, we have purchased a portable stair-climber to improve access to choir seating for choral singers with significant mobility impairments.
